As I mentioned in last weeks newsletter, pricing is somewhat determined by your ability to sell. Take this a little further, on a more personal level, and we`re talking about your level of self-confidence. Some may call it self-esteem.

Whatever you call it, your ability to price and stand behind your pricing, especially when you decide to price based on exclusivity and value-added VS price wars, is directly linked to what is happening within yourself.

Ok, lets chat briefly on self-esteem for a second. I personally believe there are three levels to this. Let me explain:
Level 1- Self image
Level 2- Self talk
Level 3- Self esteem

Another way to break this down is by looking at it this way, each progressively deeper:
Level 1- What others see
Level 2- What you say to yourself or feel about yourself
Level 3- What is happening at the subconscious level

So, that means self esteem is something you aren`t even aware of, since it happens at the subconscious level. The scientists of the world believed at one time that once you were about 7 years old, you were then hardwired. Your mind, beliefs, and all were anchored, and you couldn`t change. They`ve since changed their mind, and now believe that the mind, that what happens at that deeper level can be changed.

But, here`s the deal: it ain`t easy. Whenced they thought the mind was like concrete, immovable and unshapeable, now they know it`s like Silly Putty. For some, Silly Putty that`s been in the cold. It`s tough top shape and mold, but it is shapeable.

This is good news! Achievable, but somewhat tough to do. We need to fight the inner demons that tell us not to change. The conventions and norms are the way to go. Follow the crowd. These and other whisperings are all external. We need to affect our internal, on our own, through our own volition and will.

Here`s a few tips on how to do just that:
*face fears and do what scares you
*try new things
*tune out any and all criticisms
*set goals, your own
*meditate
*use affirmations
*use actions
*realize that conventional wisdom is mostly wrong or flawed
*use your imagination

I could go on. I have created many presentations based on these ideas and have given them to may groups within and outside of my community. But the one technique for pricing (yes, back to that!) is something I created and encourage all to do.

Here it is: Go to your computer and wherever you create your pricing, in whatever program you use (I create mine in PS and MS Publisher), double, or triple all your prices. This is for fun remember, so work with me. Make your prices really high! Make your session fee outrageously high. If you have say $30.00 as the fee you think is a good price, change it $300.00.

Then, print this out, several copies. Put one on your fridge.Look at it. get used to it. Let it sit. Keep em around for weeks, months or years, until you feel so comfortable and easy with this that you can then put it into reality.

Cool or what.... run with it, have fun, let your imagination run wild. Everything starts with an idea. EVERYTHING.
